Worth Porter Allred, 85 of Wales, UT passed away April 26, 2011 at his home surrounded by his family. Born March 12, 1926 to Theras Orson and Florence Rheuamah Porter Allred in Sanford, CO. Worth married M. LuDean Price August 18, 1950 in the Manti LDS Temple. Worth served his country in the Navy during World War II. He was a member of the LDS Church and held many callings including Branch President, Scoutmaster, Stake Missionary, Bishop, and Counselor in the Stake Presidency. He was a world renowned scientist in the semiconductor industry. He established several businesses growing crystals for the space industry and received the Small Business Administration Award for the western region. His material was in the 1st space station built by Hughes Aircraft and is currently helping to propel the Cassini Satellite that is orbiting Triton, one of Jupiter's moons. Survived by his wife, LuDean, Wales, UT; daughters, Terri (Melvin) Carr, Mt. Pleasant, UT; Vickie (Richard) Rowley, Payson, UT; Marian (David) Huffaker, Portland, OR; daughter-in-law, Christie Ann Allred, Wales, UT; 22 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; siblings, McKay (Velma) Allred, CO; Wendell (Virginia) Allred, UT; Elaine (Keith) Hawkins, UT; Joye (Rulon) Cluff, UT; Noreen (Denny) Hess, UT; Carol (Vern) Bean, MD. Preceded in death by his son Worth Clinton Allred. Also, by his parents and siblings Quathel, Iris, Avard, Olga, Quella, and Forrest. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 30, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in the Sanpitch LDS Chapel in Wales, Utah with a viewing from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. prior to services at the church.
