Utah Grizzlies fall in OT to lose series

VICTORIA, British Columbia — The Victoria Salmon Kings scored 48 seconds into sudden-death double overtime to defeat the Utah Grizzlies 2-1 Friday night in Victoria and take the series 4-0.

All four games came down to the wire with the first two being within a goal in the third period and the final two both being decided past regulation. In the series, Victoria led for 74:33, Utah for 72:59.

J.P. Lamoureux stopped a personal and team season-high 50 of 52 shots in the contest, including 18-straight in OT as the Grizzlies killed four shorthanded situations.

Simon Ferguson gave Utah a 1-0 lead 2:44 into the first period on the power-play. Brett Parnham and Nick Tuzzolino picked up assists. Kiel Mcleod tied the contest with 1:05 left in the second. Adam Taylor scored unassisted in overtime as the exhausted Grizzlies couldn't clear their own end.
