Phillip Metschan Cutright "Choc"
Our loving father and grand-father passed away peacefully April 9, 2011 in his home surrounded by his family, due to complications from pulmonary fibrosis. Phillip was born October 27, 1918 in Downey, Idaho to Turner Woods Cutright and Helen Metschan. He graduated from Downida High School and later attended Radio School in Boise, ID. He married his sweetheart Phyllis Woolf on November 14, 1945 in Pocatello, Idaho and they were sealed in the Logan Temple in June 1949. He farmed in Idaho until 1950 when they moved to Utah and worked for BF Goodrich, Associated Food, and The LDS Church. He held many positions in the church including Bishop's Counselor, Stake YM President, High Counselor over Riverside Stake dairy farm, Bishop of the Rosedale Ward, and Director of Regional extraction program. He and his wife served a mission in Fresno, CA, teaching Cambodian people about Christ. He was a good friend and neighbor to all, honest and unselfish, and loved children. He loved and served the Lord continually throughout his life. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis. Daughters, Patricia (Ron) Winkler, Susan (Vaughn) Broadbent, Eileen (Reid) Hall. Sons, Craig (Jeannine), Brian (Nancy), David (Kathy), 27 grandchildren, 36 great-grand-children, and his sister-in-law Carma Kirkland. Phillip is the oldest of nine and last surviving child of Turner and Helen Cutright. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, April 16, 2011 at 12:00 noon at the Riverside Stake Center 500 N 1148 W SLC. Friends and family may call Friday, from 6-8:00 p.m. at the Larkin Mortuary 260 E South Temple SLC and from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the ward prior to services. Interment at SLC Cemetery.
