NEW YORK — The scheduled game between the Baltimore Orioles and New York Yankees has been postponed because of rain. No makeup date was announced.

A.J. Burnett had been slated to pitch Tuesday night for the Yankees in the opener of a three-game series. Chris Tillman was Baltimore's scheduled starter. Both were pushed back a day.

It was the second rainout at Yankee Stadium in a week. Minnesota and New York were washed out last Wednesday night.

Yankees manager Joe Girardi said reliever Luis Ayala will be placed on the 15-day disabled list with a strained muscle in his back. Also, injured left-hander Pedro Feliciano still felt discomfort when he tried to play catch and will have more tests Wednesday.
