WOMEN'S TENNIS: Starting off conference play with a doubleheader, the BYU women's tennis team takes on No. 65 TCU and New Mexico Friday and Saturday, respectively, in Fort Worth, Texas.
Saturday the Cougars (5-7) defeated No. 63 Oregon 4-1. Prior to the match, the team took a two-week break.
Freshman Callie Craig of Orem, heads the Cougars in singles with a 17-10 record. Craig and Megan Price team up to lead in doubles, going 17-7 on the season.
For the Horned Frogs, Frederica Denti and Katariina Tuohimaa compiled a 12-6 doubles record so far. Gaby Mastromarino is 7-2 in singles after four consecutive wins.
New Mexico's Anya Villanueva established an 11-3 record in non-conference play, putting her at the top of the Lobos in singles. With Ashley Bonner, Villanueva also leads in doubles with an 8-5 record.
The TCU match will start at 2 p.m. Friday and the New Mexico match at 2 p.m. Saturday. The Cougars' next home match is against Air Force April 7 at noon.
