SALT LAKE CITY — The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints President Thomas S. Monson will deliver the commencement address to Dixie State College graduates.
President Monson will speak at the college in St. George on May 6.
The college is celebrating its centennial this year.
Dixie president Stephen Nadauld says it is appropriate to have the president of the Mormon church speak because the church founded the college 100 years ago.
Nadauld says students will benefit from President Monson's counsel and advice.
Along with his church leadership, President Monson has served as a member of the Utah Board of Regents, which oversees public higher education for the state.
