Lars Anderson Jr. 1920 ~ 2011

Lars Anderson Jr. 91 of Pleasant Grove passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, March 19, 2011. He was born February 22, 1920 to Lars Anderson Sr. and Edith Elfreda Lxman Anderson in Salt Lake City. He married Ingrid Anna Johnson December 20, 1946 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, solemnized by Spencer W. Kimball. Ingrid passed away November of 2006. Lars served an LDS mission in the California Redwood District. He joined the US Navy and served in World War II. He graduated from University of Utah with a Bachelors degree in English and a Masters degree in Education Administration. He taught junior high school math and other subjects in Concord, California. He also had his own income tax/painting businesses. He and Ingrid relocated to Utah in the early 90's to be closer to their children. He had a passion for golf and chess and he was very athletic. He was a very devoted and faithful member of the LDS Church and served in many capacities. He is survived by his children, Carla (Ron, deceased) Murphy, Lehi; Patricia (Rex) Harris, Lehi; Vernon Anderson, Pleasant Grove; Christine (Randy) Gleave, Provo; Anita (David) Harrison, Pleasant Grove; 22 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren with one on the way and brother, Joseph (Margaret) Anderson, Sandy. He is preceded in death by his wife, Ingrid, brothers, Alvis and Arthur and sisters Evelyn and Marie. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 26, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Garden Fifth Ward Chapel, 745 North 600 West, Pleasant Grove. Family and friends may attend a viewing on Saturday one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery.
