Phyllis Mae Woods Marsh 1933 ~ 2011

Phyllis passed away at home on 10 March 2011 in Taylorsville, Utah. Born in Brooks, Alberta, Canada 2 Jan 1933 to Kenneth Frederick Woods and Oretta Martindale. Their family lived in Canada until she was one and then moved to Sandpointe, Idaho. They later moved to Provo, Utah where she attended and graduated from Provo High School in 1951. Following graduation she attended Comtometer School in Salt Lake and began working for the telephone company. Phyllis met Lynn in Salt Lake, dated for some time and then married in Provo, Utah on 24 Jun 1953; solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on 16 Dec 1955. They lived in Tooele for about a year and then moved to Garfield, Utah. We soon began our family with Gary Lynn, born 18 Aug 1954, Randy Dee, born 18 Jun 1957, living for only two days, Jeffery Lee, born 4 Sep 1964 and passed away 7 Dec 1999, and finally Tamara Ann, born 6 Nov 1966. The family lived in Salt Lake for 22 years, then lived in Taylorsville and finally residing in Legacy Villas where Phyllis could get around more easily without stairs. Phyllis was Office Manager for Wagstaff Toyota Co. in Salt Lake and retired in 1990. As an active member of the LDS Church, she served in many callings including Relief Society President & Counselor, and primary and Sunday school teachers. She and Lynn worked in the Jordan River Temple for 10 years. They enjoyed 17 cruises together, and trips to Cancun, Canada, LDS Historical Tours and Palm Springs. She was also a Realtor with Lynn at ERA Village Realtors for many years. Survived by husband, Lynn; son, Gary Lynn (Kathy); daughter, Tamara (Thomas) Bryner; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Connie (Michael) Aldrich and Judy Woods; aunt, Mary Partridge. Preceded in death by her father in 1969; mother in 2006; and brother, Russell in 2007; and sons Randy Dee and Jeffery Lee. Special thanks to Millcreek Home Health & Hospice for their loving care for Phyllis and the many doctors who took care of her. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 11:00 a.m., at the Westbrook 7th Ward, 6364 South 3200 West. A viewing will be held Monday, 6 - 8:00 pm at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, and Tuesday at the church, 10-10:45 a.m. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park.
