JUPITER, Fla. — Miguel Cabrera homered and doubled in his first game since fresh details came out regarding his February arrest on suspicion of drunken driving, leading the Detroit Tigers over the St. Louis Cardinals 7-4.

Cabrera lined the first pitch he saw for an RBI double. In his next at-bat, the All-Star slugger hit his first home run this spring.

Cabrera was the first Tigers player on the field Friday, running through his routine conditioning drills.

"You've got to be step by step, you've got to be day by day," Cabrera said.

Documents released by the Florida state attorney's office Thursday say Cabrera threatened a restaurant manager shortly before being arrested in Fort Pierce on Feb. 16.

Cabrera said the latest revelations aren't affecting how he approaches spring training.

"That's my work," he said. "I'm here to win games and play baseball. I don't have anything else to say about that."

RANGERS CEO QUITS: It didn't take long for Chuck Greenberg to become a very visible figure for the Texas Rangers, buying the team in a dramatic bankruptcy court showdown and then taking on the role of CEO and managing partner before the team's first-ever World Series.

On Friday, seven months after his investment group bought the team, the AL champion Rangers abruptly announced that Greenberg was leaving the organization. The move came three weeks before the season opener.
