FAIRVIEW, UT- Lorraine Vance Miner passed away peacefully February 21, 2011 in Ephraim, Utah. While she lived most of her life in Fairview - and claimed the city as her home - she was born May 12, 1926 in Mammoth, Juab County to Glen Elroy and Marjorie Fowles Vance. She married Myrth Curtis Miner in the Manti LDS Temple on September 22, 1948. Lorraine was employed for brief periods, but her primary role and passion was working as a wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. Her handmade quilts and clothing, and luscious pies, were legendary. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and accepted callings in the Primary and Young Women's organizations. She twice served as president of her ward Relief Society. She is survived by her husband, sons Curtis Miner, Salt Lake City; and Barry (Donna) Miner, Fairview; daughter Sharene (Steven) Hansen, Taylorsville; and five grandchildren. Survivors also include two great grandchildren, four step great grandchildren, and siblings Maurine (Elroy) Brady, Kaysville; Allen (Norma) Vance and Winnie (Arthur) Neilson, Bountiful; and Jerry Vance, Kentucky. She is also survived by sisters-in-law Cherie Vance, West Valley City, and Ruth Vance, Mt. Pleasant. She was preceded in death by her parents, infant daughter Jenny, and brothers Kenneth Vance and Bert Vance. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 25 at 12:00 noon at the Fairview 4th Ward, 122 South State St., Fairview. Friends and family may call Thursday evening from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at Rasmussen Mortuary, 96 North 100 West, Mt. Pleasant, and again from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. prior to services at the ward.
