Mary Louise Talbot 1917 ~ 2011

Mary Louise Smith Talbot passed away peacefully on February 13, 2011, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Mary was born October 24, 1917, in Salt Lake City to Anna Louisa Victoria Greene and Roy Cairns. She married Aldon (Dutch) Talbot January 25th, 1936. They were sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple January 25, 1982. Mary was an active member of the LDS church. Mary's greatest achievement was her family. She was well known for her culinary skills, artistic endeavors in painting and ceramics, and as a master seamstress and gardener. In addition, Mary was a second mom to hundreds of children in Cub Scouts, 4-H, Sunday School, baseball teams, and to all those who just wanted a warm and loving place to be. Mary is survived by her children, Jim and Kate Talbot, Washington; Elaine and Robert Fernandez, Utah; Danny and Becky Talbot, Washington; David and Cathy Talbot, California; Jon and Jenae Talbot, Idaho; and brother Lamar (Smitty) Smith, 18 grandchildren, 39 great-grand-children and eight great-great grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband, parents, sisters, Eileene Edwards and Ruth Audrey Cairns, children, Junie Lou Talbot Quigley and Fred David Quigley. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 17th, 11:00 a.m., at Colony LDS Ward, 4251 South 4800 West, West Valley City. Viewings will be held at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, Wednesday, from 6-8 p.m. and at the church 10 - 10:45 a.m. prior to services. The family wishes to thank the staff of St. Joseph's and CareSource Hospice for their kindness. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to Primary Children's Hospital.
