Buhl Rich Broadbent Together Again

Buhl Rich Broadbent passed away Friday, February 11, 2011 in Tooele, Utah. Buhl was born August 17, 1930 in Afton, Wyoming, the fourth child of John Elmer and Jean Allred Rich Broadbent. He married Audrey Marie Baker, June 30, 1956 in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS temple on November 17, 1972. Audrey preceded Buhl in death on November 3, 1995. We rejoice in their reunion. Dad and Mom raised seven sons. The family was mobile before mobile became popular, living in Idaho, California and Utah. They finally settled in Tooele, Utah where Dad worked for the United States Postal Service. Dad was a hard worker and expected his sons to work hard as well. Dad and Mom enjoyed travel and wintering in Arizona after Dad retired. More recently, since Mom's passing, Dad has enjoyed spending time with Ellen Larsen. They enjoyed plays at Hale Centre Theatre, the opera in Logan, BYU Education Week and excursions to various temples. Buhl is survived by his sister Vera Call, brother Norville (Leoyce) Broadbent, and five sons, Terry (Verna), Kenneth Wynia, John (Tisa), Dennis (Mary) and Karl, 21 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Lorna Calton, brother Wayne, and sons Jimmy Wynia and Keith Broadbent. Funeral services will be held, Tuesday, February 15 at 11:00 a.m. in the Tooele 26th Ward, 1025 W Utah Avenue. A viewing will be held on Monday, February 14, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tate Mortuary, 110 S. Main St., Tooele, Utah. A viewing prior to services will be held from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Our family expresses gratitude to the medical staff at the Mountain West Medical Center in Tooele for the care Dad received during his final hours. We are also grateful to John and Tisa for opening their home to Dad and taking great care of him.
