Stanley Moroni Bruin, our beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away February 10, 2011. He was born November 8, 1923 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Barend Bruin and Johanna Willemina Bakker Bruin. Stan was married to Mary Juanita Davis on September 23, 1949 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was preceded in death by his dear wife Nita and parents. He is survived by his brothers John Bruin (Shari), LeRoy Bruin (Dorothy), Ronald Bruin (JoAnn), Gerald Bruin (Karma); daughters Sherri Turner (George), Terri Bruin, grandchildren George Turner (Catie) and Rebecca Rivas (Manuel); great-grandchildren Manuel and Mykaela Rivas and Gerald Turner. Stan served proudly during World War II as a B-17 tail gunner. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormons) and enjoyed working as an ordinance worker in the Dallas and Houston LDS Temples. He will be missed but not forgotten. Viewing and funeral services will be held on Feb 14th, at the Katy LDS Stake Center (Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints) at 1602 Norwalk Dr, Katy, Texas 77450. The viewing will be 10:30-12:30 with the funeral following at 1:00. He will be laid to rest in the Houston National Cemetery.
