KYLE KORVER 5 QUESTIONS

During his two and a half seasons with the Utah Jazz, Kyle Korver was one of the most popular players on the team. In his last season, he set an NBA record with 53.6 percent shooting from 3-point range, before leaving to sign a free-agent contract with the Chicago Bulls. He talked with Mike Sorensen before his team played Utah earlier this week (and later commented to the Chicago Tribune about Jerry Sloan's resignation).

Question: How has the move to Chicago been for you?

It's been good. It's a great sports town and the arena is packed every night, just like it was here. There's a lot going on in the city, a lot of culture. It's close to home (Iowa) for me, so a lot of my family can drive up for games, which is something they haven't been able to do. And we're winning, which is nice. We have a really good team that's capable of doing something.

Question:What do you miss most about Utah?

I miss the people and the mountains. I had a little spot downtown where I could look out my window and see the mountains every morning. There was something about waking up every morning and seeing that. Living here, you kind of take them granted. But you spend some time away and come back, you realize how great they are. You're amazed by them, but when you come back it's just like the first time you saw them. Having nature around you just does something for your soul. I miss some teammates and some friends here for sure. I met a lot of great people here.

Question: What are your thoughts about not being invited to the (All-Star Game) 3-point contest even though you broke the NBA record for 3-point percentage last year?

The older you get the more you look forward to the break. I'll go and enjoy it somewhere, but I would love to go there and I'd love to win it someday, for sure. I would have liked to have done it.

Question: You played in the State Amateur and loved to play golf while you were here -- have you found some good golf courses in Chicago yet?

I played a couple of times when I first went out there, but my sticks are in the garage. It is freezing cold back there, so I have not touched my clubs. But I got some new golf shoes the other day, so I'm getting ready.

Question:Do you have plans to come back to Utah in the summertime?

Oh for sure. I'm going to try to come back and play golf with Deron (Williams) and come back and do the Dodgeball tournament again. I'm sure there will be trips here and there. I rented my place out to Earl Watson, so I've still got a place I can come to, but I don't have any furniture. I'll have to figure that out. But I'll definitely be back here again.

Bonus question -- What are your thoughts on Jerry Sloan after hearing about his resignation from the Jazz? As told to the Chicago Tribune)

"He treated everyone the same. He genuinely cared about you as a person. You always knew what you were going to get. There weren't any mind games. There wasn't any extra stuff going on. Same plays, same defense, same philosophy. Game after game, year after year, you knew what to expect. He was consistent. He was honest. He handled himself with the utmost respect for the game. You see guys who get caught up in the fame. He's the same guy he was 30 or 40 years ago. I think that's something to admire."

As always ... Korver's a classy guy. He knows how to handle the media and comes off as genuine.
