Edith Amelia O'Brien Beazer 1916 ~ 2011Comment on this story
Edith Amelia O'Brien Beazer (94) passed away suddenly at her home at Legacy House in Bountiful. She was a fun, wonderful, woman who will be missed terribly by her 'neat' family. Edith was born in SLC, Utah, November 11, 1916 to Lula M. and Edward O'Brien. She was the oldest of three brothers and three sisters, all who preceded her in death. She attended SLC schools and the U of U. She married Don Beazer on August 14, 1935. The marriage was later solemnized in the SLC temple. They had five sons: Rex (Patricia), Woodland, WA; Jerry (Diane), Bountiful, UT; Richard (Gail), Tooele, Ut; Michael (Janet Burch), Moccasin, AZ; and Allan (Laurel), Kaysville, UT. She leaves a legacy of 29 grandchildren; 84 great-grandchildren and 21 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons, and a granddaughter. She was a lifetime member of the LDS Church and served in many positions. She attended the temple regularly until she was 91 and has performed over 5000 initiatories. She and Don served three missions together: Hawaii, Philippines, Cebu and the Washington DC Temple. She was a 'super mom' who was active in the PTA, her telephone gals groups, and the DUP. She was a talented seamstress and many family and friends benefitted from her crafts and gifts. She found complete joy in her family, and was much loved. Her optimism was contagious. She has lived at the Legacy Assisted Living Center in Bountiful for the past two years, and thoroughly enjoyed her friends and associations there.
