Evelyn W. Rigby 1917 ~ 2011

Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend passed away at home with her family by her side on Jan. 26, 2011. Evelyn is the daughter of George A. and Myrtle K. Walkingshaw, born in Salt Lake City, on Dec. 2, 1917. Married Max E. Rigby on Dec. 25, 1942 in Reno, Nev. Marriage solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on April 11, 1966. She was an active member of the LDS Church, serving faithfully in the YWMIA for 22 years and ward librarian for 20 years. She worked alongside her sister for 19 years at Hart Brothers Music. Loved to travel, dance and go on cruises with her family. Survived by her husband; children, Joan Rigby Besst, Steve (Sue) Rigby, and Glenn Rigby; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Richard (Sharee) Walkingshaw; two sisters, Arlene (Floyd) Wilson and Shirley Brown. Preceded in death by five brothers, one sister, a grandson, Shane and son-in-law, Lee Besst. The family wishes to thank Shellie, Claudia, and Maria of Love Hospice Care for their loving care of our wife and mother. Funeral service will be held Monday, Jan. 31, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in the Brickyard Ward, 1111 E. Charlton Ave. (2815 So.). A viewing will be held Sunday 6-8 p.m. at the Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 1950 E. 10600 So. and Monday at the Ward 12:00-12:45 p.m. Interment Larkin Sunset Gardens.
