BYU, Utah State basketball: Cougars 9th, Aggies 25th in coaches' poll

PROVO — Two days before the monumental Mountain West Conference showdown between San Diego State and BYU, the Aztecs moved up two spots to No. 4 in the Associated Press poll while the Cougars remained at No. 9, sharing that spot with Syracuse. The Orangemen dropped from No. 3 after losing twice over the weekend.

In the coaches' poll, SDSU is also No. 4 with BYU holding down the No. 9 spot by itself. Syracuse in No. 10 in that poll. Utah State moved into the poll this week, taking the 25th spot, just behind St. Mary's.

The Aztecs visit the Cougars Wednesday (8 p.m., CBS-C).

According to CBSSports.com, BYU is No. 1 in the RPI, with SDSU checking in at No. 3.
