Gladys M. Hogan 1914 ~ 2011

A long life of loving service ended peacefully at 96, when Gladys Malmstrom Hogan was released to her maker January 19, 2011. Gladys was born April 6, 1914 in Garfield, Utah, to Andrew A. and Mary M. (West) Malmstrom. She was one of six children and was called "Dolly" by her siblings because of her beautiful eyes. Gladys was raised in Midvale, Utah and graduated from Jordan High School and Stevens-Henagar College, excelling in shorthand, a skill she used frequently throughout her life. Gladys married Leman Ira Hogan of Holladay, Utah in 1935. Together they had four children. Leman passed away in 1966. Gladys was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served faithfully in various callings. She was employed by the Granite School District as a secretary until retirement. Gladys enjoyed traveling, gardening and doing genealogy and temple work. Above all, her true love was being there for her large growing family and sharing in their lives. Her special humor, faithful caring and love of God is her true legacy she leaves for all of us. Gladys is survived by her children Dennis (Julie) Hogan; Cheryl (Jim) Holt; Ivan (Celeste) Hogan; David (Shelly) Hogan; step-daughter Inez Peterson; 19 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
