Laura Powell of South Jordan and Deborah Harroun of Orem have been invited to compete in the Swanson Ultimate Football Recipe Challenge. Powell and Harroun, along with one other food blogger. They will be judged Jan. 19 at the Campbell's headquarters in Camden, N.J. The winning recipe will be featured on CampbellsKitchen.com

Bryant Terry, author of "Vegan Soul Kitchen: Fresh, Healthy, and Creative African-American Cuisine," is presenting a lecture titled "Food Justice," at Westminster College, 1840 S. 1300 East, Jan. 19, 7:30 p.m.

Utah Girl Scouts will be taking orders for Girl Scout Cookies through Jan. 30. Pre-ordered cookies will be delivered in March, and cookie booths will be open March 11-27. Visit gsutah.org to make an online order or to find local cookie booths.

Market Street fish markets are offering fresh Oregon dungeness crab flown directly to Utah within hours of their catch as part of the crab festival, which runs through the end of February.
