Its a poll and everyone has an opinion. Basketball polls are meaningless anyway since a national champ is crowned on the court according to who wins.
Besides a win over St. Marys, BYU has wins over several other team receiving votes - Arizona, Utah State,UNLV. Those are some quality wins.
Check out the ballots. Of the 64 voters, 60 have BYU between 7 and 12. Two don't come up for some reason. One guy from Virginia has the Cougs at 14. And Jon Wilner from the San Jose Mercury News has them 18th. I'm not sure they deserve to be 9th, but More..
