Wilma Ruth Dick Tullis 1921 ~ 2011

Wilma Ruth Dick Tullis peacefully passed away on January 14, 2011 at her home surrounded by her family. Born January 26, 1921 to Valentine Newton Dick and Julia Ann Teague in Post Oak, Johnson County, Missouri. Wilma had fond memories of her childhood in Missouri and dearly loved her parents and older siblings. She attended BYU and was proud of her service during World War II in the U.S. Navy Women's Services (WAVES). Wilma was the mother of seven children from another marriage. Linda Loverridge, DeAnn Groesbeck, Karin Stansel, Nannette Miles, Sarah Stosich, Kathleen VanderLinden and John Groesbeck. She valiantly served in various capacities in the LDS church. Wilma will always be remembered for her love and understanding of the scriptures. In the autumn of her life she met and married her eternal companion, Wesley LaMond Tullis on November 7, 1981. They had 22 loving years. LaMond was the love of her life and she was anxious to be reunited with him. Together they served an LDS mission to Bermuda and a temple mission for three and a half years. After LaMond's death in 2003, she served a family history mission for six months. Wilma had an 'immovable' testimony of her Savior and His gospel. We rejoice in her reunion with those who preceded her in death; husband, parents, and siblings. Wilma loved her six daughters, son, 30 grandchildren, and 86 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Glenmore 6th Ward, 9918 W. Yorkshire Drive, South Jordan, Utah. A viewing will be held Monday, January 17, 2011 from 6-8 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley, 1007 W So. Jordan Pkwy (10600 S) and Tuesday one hour prior to services at the church. Interment Vernal City Cemetery, 1750 S. 500 E., Vernal, Utah. Online condolences at www.jenkins-soffe.com
