PROVO — BYU coach Bronco Mendenhall could be close to hiring Navy assistant Joe DuPaix as an inside receiver/tight ends coach, sources have told the Deseret News.
DuPaix, the son of longtime Skyline High coach Roger DuPaix, played for his father at Skyline and later at Southern Utah. His other coaching stops include Riverton High, the University of Missouri-Rolla and Cal Poly. DuPaix has spent the past three seasons serving under Navy head coach Ken Niumatalolo.
According to sources, DuPaix is a close friend of Cougar assistant Brandon Doman, who was promoted to offensive coordinator last week. Doman played for Roger DuPaix at Skyline in the 1990s.

Bronco is assembling a young, creative, energetic, and very cohesive staff that will relate very well to the players and be excellent recruiters. Less experienced, yes, but not less talented. Cahoon and Lewis are still in the mix, in More..
Coach DuPaix is a class act on and off the field. He would be a great pick up for the Cougars. His success at Navy speaks for itself. In fact, I would love to see him eventually take the QB coach duties from Doman.
No inexperience there. Joe is a great coach. He was the Offensive Coordinator of a playoff team at Cal Poly, and they were a Top-5 offense in the country, which earned him the opportunity at Navy. He is also a great recruiter and because he has More..
