Woodruff Child Gwynn 1924 ~ 2011

Woodruff Child Gwynn, 86, passed away January 3, 2011, at home. Born April 22, 1924, In Cowley, Wyoming, to Woodruff Gwynn and Margaret Child. Married Elnora Boyack, June 12, 1947, in the Logan LDS Temple. She died in 1995. Married Marilyn Martin, May 10, 2001. Later divorced. Served in many LDS Church positions, including a mission to Ontario, Canada. Honorably served his country during World War II. Received a Juris Doctor from the University of Utah College of Law. Worked as a prosecutor in the Salt Lake County Attorney's office. Preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Richard and Callis; his wife, Elnora; and his son, Roger. Survived by his children: Gail (Larry) Groves, Heidi Anderson, Carol Gwynn, Robert (Titia) Gwynn, and Richard (DeAnn) Gwynn. Also survived by his sister, Ann (Robert) Baird and his brother, John (Julie) Gwynn; 13 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. The family expresses sincere appreciation to Highland Care Center, Utah State Veterans Nursing Home, Care Source Hospice, Sofi Folau, Tau Kaufusi, and Sione Taufa for their kindness and expert care. A private family viewing will be held. Graveside services with military honors will be held Friday, January 7, 2011 at 11:00 a.m., at the Salt Lake City Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Larkin Mortuary.
