SALT LAKE CITY — Fire burned a barn at This Is the Place Heritage Park in Salt Lake City early Tuesday morning.
This isn't the first time fire has damaged the historic place.
Salt Lake City Fire Department crews responded around 4 a.m. and put the fire out in less than 10 minutes. They contained the flames to the outside of the barn.
Crews also rescued a horse from the barn. The animal was not injured.
About seven months ago, a barn at This Is the Place Heritage Park caught fire, and nearly a dozen baby animals were killed. Heating lamps were the cause of that fire.
Fire investigators have not released the cause of this fire, but damage is estimated at $10,000.
Battalion Chief Tom Roberson said, "We don't think it's suspicious, but these guys will give it a good investigation and give it a cause later on."
Officials say the firefighting effort worked well even with extremely cold temperatures and fire hydrants that were not easy to find. The park will open for business as usual this morning.
