Jim Brickman released four CDs this year. He'll perform tonight at Kingsbury Hall.

As you've wandered past the greetings cards in Target, or near the bath accessories in Bed Bath and Beyond, you've likely stopped at the music walls — pressed the Big Band swing CD, and then pushed the button for Jim Brickman.
With exclusive lines for both retailers, and many more for numerous other outlets, Brickman is not only considered America's Romantic Piano Sensation but also a go-to song man for the holidays.
"This is the 15th annual holiday tour," Brickman said, sitting casually in the restaurant at the Grand America last time he passed through town
His 15th Annual Holiday Concert is Dec. 31 at Kingsbury Hall.
"Salt Lake is the first town I played, so it has a special place in my heart," he said.
Finishing his breakfast, Brickman spoke of his non-musical upbringing in Cleveland. "I started playing piano when I was 5 years old; I was just drawn to music as a kid."
"It's what I love to do," he said. "It's the way I communicate, it's what comes naturally."
With four albums out just last year, Brickman has had, what he calls, "a very prolific year."
The exclusive contracts with various retailers have helped keep Brickman writing.
"I did a lullaby CD, a chill-out CD, Christmas and romance," he said.
"I think it keeps the brand relevant," he said when asked about the music walls in many stores.
"Moms and kids walk through those sections together, rather than splitting up to their separate sections"
"I like to hide and try to see if people stop and push the button," he joked. "But really, I'm so appreciative."
"My CDs are mood-setting. They have an inspirational quality and a tone that's hopeful and positive. I'm so pleased that they appeal to such a wide audience."
With 15 years of holiday tours under his belt, Brickman still enjoys touring.
"We've done it for so long, it's just what we do; it wouldn't feel like Christmas without it."
"It's a warm inviting setting, and you'll hopefully feel every emotion."
This year, Brickman's holiday tour will feature special guests Ann Cochran, Mark Masri and Tracy Silverman.
"I only want people who I have an authentic relationship with on stage. There has to be an authenticity with the guests."
"I hope it feels nostalgic. Like you're coming to my house for party to celebrate the season."
