The brief return of Austin Collie re-energized Indy's offense.
Now, the Colts hope he'll be back in time for the playoffs.
The second-year receiver left just before halftime Sunday after getting hit in the head and sustaining his second diagnosed concussion in seven weeks.
"The only update I can give you is he's doing OK right now, but he had a concussion, and he'll be evaluated further," coach Jim Caldwell said after the Colts' 34-24 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Caldwell isn't about to guess how long Collie might be out this time, especially with the NFL's emphasis this season on treating concussions and particularly repeat concussions.
He was injured late in the second quarter when Peyton Manning tried to thread a ball between two Jacksonville defenders on third-and-12. Collie appeared to catch the ball, but when the second defender, linebacker Daryl Smith, hit Collie in the head with his forearm, the ball came out.
The pass was ruled incomplete and no penalty was called.
But Collie again stayed down on the field, motionless for several minutes as the hushed crowd watched 10 coaches and trainers huddle around Collie. Smith, Manning and Jeff Saturday — the two longest-tenured Colts — all stood nearby.
Eventually, Collie sat up and walked straight to the locker room, missing the final 67 seconds of the half.
Meanwhile, the Bengals' first win after a 10-game losing streak ended without a catch by Terrell Owens, who missed practice last week with torn cartilage in his left knee and hobbled off the field during Cincinnati's opening drive after running a long route. The injury will likely sideline him for the final two games.
Also in that game, Browns cornerback Eric Wright hurt his left knee in the fourth quarter and had to be helped off the field.
Philadelphia Eagles safety Nate Allen and New York Giants backup defensive end Dave Tollefson were sidelined with right knee injuries.
Allen was hurt late in the second quarter of the Eagles' stunning 38-31 win when his knee appeared to buckle while trying to stop near his own 10-yard line after a catch by New York's Mario Manningham. He was carted off.
Tollefson was hurt making a tackle on an Eagles kickoff return earlier in the quarter.
Cowboys starting safety Gerald Sensabaugh and rookie linebacker Sean Lee both left the game at Washington because of concussions.
Lee left after sustaining a concussion while covering a punt return. Lee remained down on the field at the end of the play early in the second quarter. After being tended to by trainers, Lee got up and gingerly walked to the sideline.
It wasn't immediately clear when or how Sensabaugh sustained his concussion.
The Redskins lost LB Brian Orakpo (hamstring, groin), S Reed Doughty (head) and DL Phillip Daniels (abdomen) in the game.
Seahawks cornerback Marcus Trufant left the loss to Atlanta with back spasms late in the first half and did not return.
Defensive lineman Junior Siavii also suffered a neck stinger after a hard collision with Atlanta running back Michael Turner in the fourth quarter, coach Pete Carroll said. Siavii was on the field for a few moments before getting up and jogging off.
Carroll said Trufant's back would not "settle down" to where he could go back in. Trufant eventually returned to the sideline in the fourth quarter still in uniform, but without his helmet.
And Rams fullback Brit Miller was carted off with a right knee injury in the third quarter and is likely out for the season.
