Marvel Crittenden 1926 ~ 2010

Marvel Jorgensen Crittenden, our kind sweet, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend returned peacefully to her Heavenly Father on the morning of December 14, 2010 in Vernal, Utah with family by her side. Marvel was born on October 30, 1926 in Kamas, Utah to LeRoy Ashley Jorgensen and DeEtta Carpender. She was the fifth of seven children. Marvel was raised in Peoa, Utah. She attended South Summit High School in Kamas, Utah. She always loved participating in sports and was a cheerleader for five years. She began working at a very young age and proved over the years her strong ambition. Marvel met Ralph Crittenden when they were about eight years old. They grew up together and married in their early twenties. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They worked very hard for years on the family farm in Francis. They were later able to purchase it. They raised their family in Francis, Utah and lived the majority of their lives there. In 1974, they moved to Spanish Fork, Utah. Marvel had many friends, young and old alike. She worked in Salt lake City at Glades Candy Company for about ten years and later at Signetics Corporation in Orem, Utah. Marvel was presented with a gold diamond ring for her strong work ethic and dedication to her job from Signetics Corporation. She is truly loved and will be greatly missed by all that knew her. Marvel is survived by her two sons and two daughters, Mike (Ruth) Crittenden, Francis, Utah; Dixie Johnson, Farmington, Utah; Bill Crittenden, Francis, Utah; and SueAnn (Gregg) Burraston, Vernal, Utah; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and one due in January. She is also survived by one sister, Kolleen (Dan) Poff, Emmitt, Idaho; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph, of fifty-nine years; her parents and parents-in-law; four brothers and one sister. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 18, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Spanish Fork 3rd Ward Chapel, 360 North 650 West, Spanish Fork, Utah. Friends may call Friday evening, December 17, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Francis LDS Church or on Saturday morning at the Spanish Fork 3rd Ward Chapel prior to services from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services.
