Today's Sundays at Seven concert features several University of Utah musicians in a holiday program.
Participating are soprano Julie Wright-Costa, soprano; Kirsten Gunlogson, mezzo-soprano; Robert Baldwin, viola; and Susan Duehlmeier and Bonnie Gritton, piano.
They'll be performing Christmas favorites in new arrangements. Among the pieces will be "Silent Night," "White Christmas" and "Gesu Bambino."
After the hourlong concert, Duehlmeier and Gritton will be signing copies of their newest CD, " 'Tis the Season," that has arrangements of well known and popular holiday songs by local composer/arrangers Igor Iacimciuch, Aram Arakelyan and Kay Hicks Ward.
Proceeds from the sale of the CD will go to support the After School Outreach Program in the Title I schools in Salt Lake City where the U. has a volunteer program.
Title I schools are defined as 90 percent poverty and/or one parent homes. Teaching assistants in the piano area at the U. provide instruction in the schools and piano majors volunteer and assist in the program.
