Summary

It wouldn't win any beauty contests — not the kind for games that resemble pretty people who look good in evening gowns or swimwear, at least.

The all-star point guard had another nine-point quarter in the third and finished with 16 second-half points.

Williams ended up shooting 11-for-21 — despite going 1-for-7 beyond the arc — and dished out eight assists with four rebounds.

His counterpart, Mike Conley, topped Memphis with 19 points, and Rudy Gay ended with 18.

Regardless of how it looked, the Jazz needed this win after stumbling against the Mavericks on Friday and with home games against Miami and Orlando and a tough back-to-back road trip at Dallas coming up from Wednesday through Saturday.

"I think this one was business as usual," said Bell, who had 14 points, including a clutch 4-for-5 performance from 3-point land. "We understood what our week was after this game, but we understood this was a game we need to have going into a tough week.

"We didn't take it lightly," Bell added. "They're a good team."

NOTES: Back-up big man Kyrylo Fesenko left early in the fourth quarter with a sprained left ankle and did not return. Fes was placed in a walking boot and is listed as day-to-day but is doubtful for Wednesday's game vs. Miami. … Utah, which was up 70-65 after three, improved to 10-0 this season when taking a lead into the fourth quarter. … The Jazz have beaten Memphis 12 of the last 13 times, including seven in a row at ESA.

Likewise, lets hope Fes is Ok, did great couple blocks, at least that many defensive stands forcing up tough shots. Good on Boards.

I am glad AP article mentioned Raja. He helped give us separation needed in this game with the 3 and 2 More..

It was nice to see Raja Bell hitting his shots, D-Will was a machine. Way to protect home court! Keep working hard, go Jazz!

Good game by CJ, tough game for Paul and AK, wasn't pretty but a win is a win.
Love Fes's energy, hope he isn't' layed up to long.
The next 3 games could be tough, we beat them on their home court and now they will be determined to do the More..
