ELWOOD, Box Elder County — A 16-year-old boy was killed in a rollover accident Saturday afternoon in Box Elder County.
The crash was still under investigation by the Box Elder County Sheriff's Office on Saturday night. Chief Deputy Kevin Potter said the area where the crash occurred is a long, straight road where there's a mixture of farms, fields and residential areas. The speed limit is 55 mph. There was no evidence Saturday that either weather or alcohol were factors in the crash, he said.
Just before 5 p.m., a vehicle with a 17-year-old female driver and a male and female passengers, both 16, rolled near 6800 West and 9600 North.
The driver and the female passenger received minor injuries. The cause of the crash was still under investigation Saturday, according to a statement from the sheriff's office. Names of the victims were not released pending notification of family members.
