The Salt Lake Art Center, 20 S. West Temple, is hosting a lecture, "Examining the American Hero," with Fionn McCabe, Nate Wellman and Arthur Henderson, founders of the Oh Nancy national art collective, Nov. 10, 4:30-6 p.m.

The Springville Museum of Art, 126 E. 400 South, Springville, is hosting a free event called "Art and Science Connected," which is geared toward educators but open to the public, Nov. 10, 6-9 p.m. The museum is also accepting entries for the "Utah Valley K-12 Educators" and "Christmas Lamb" shows. Both shows are for school-age children. Entries can be submitted at the museum Nov. 9-13. Visit www.smofa.org for additional entry requirements.

The Utah Museum of Fine Arts, 410 Campus Center Drive, will host a screening of "Moolaadé (Magical Protection)," as part of its Anthropology Film Series, Nov. 10, 6 p.m. Films contain adult content.

Dixie State College is hosting a free conference, "The Business of Art," at Kanab Middle School, 690 Cowboy Way, Kanab, Nov. 13, 8 a.m.-4 p.m.

The Utah Division of Arts and Museums is accepting submissions from students kindergarten through eighth grade for a traveling exhibition program, "Future Monets, Manets and Mary Cassatts," through Dec. 15. Applications are available online at www.artsandmuseums.utah.gov.

The Utah Public Art Program is seeking letters of interest and qualifications from artists interested in creating site specific public art. Submissions from interested artists are due by Dec. 16. For additional information about the project and for applications, visit www.utahpublicart.org.
