SWIMMING AND DIVING: TCU junior Lazlo Gyurko and Utah sophomore Nelson Foo have been named Mountain West Conference Men's Swimmer and Diver of the Week, respectively, while Utah seniors Natalie Edge and Kwan Ling Yu earned women's swimming and diving honors.

Gyurko, a product of Szekszard, Hungary, earned two top-five individual finishes at the Southwest Collegiate Plunge last weekend in Mansfield, Texas. The junior swam a personal-best 49.22 in the 100-yard backstroke, which is the fourth-fastest time in TCU history. In the 100-yard freestyle, Gyurko touched the wall in 45.82 for fifth place, a time that ranks 51st nationally this season. He also swam on four Horned Frog relays at the invitational meet, including the 400-yard medley relay that opened the meet with a second-place time of 3:20.77. Gyurko, who also led off for both freestyle relays (200-yard freestyle relay, 1:24.45; 400-yard freestyle relay, 3:04.59), also swam lead on the 200-yard medley relay that posted a time of 1:31.16 for third place.

Foo swept the springboard events in Utah's dual meet vs. Denver on Friday. The sophomore from Hong Kong tallied a score of 346.95 on the 1-meter springboard to pace the field in the event. Foo also earned first place on the 3-meter springboard with a score of 326.10.

Edge, a native of South Jordan, Utah, won two individual events in the Utes' 165-133 victory over the Pioneers. The senior clocked a time of 51.38 in the 100-yard freestyle, and added a first-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle (1:53.95). Edge also swam the final leg of Utah's winning 400-yard medley relay (3:48.91).

Yu, who also hails from Hong Kong, topped the charts in both springboard events against Denver on Friday. The senior earned 267.90 points to win the 3-meter springboard, and also tallied 265.35 points on the 1-meter board to complete the sweep.

WOMEN'S SOCCER: Senior forward Lauren Hair and junior defender Lauren Porter of the University of Utah women's soccer team have been named all-Mountain West Conference selections, the league office announced Tuesday.

Hair, a native of Alpine, Utah, reaches all-MWC honors for the third time but earns her first appointment to the first team squad. She was a second-team selection her sophomore and junior years. Hair is leading the Utes in goals (5), assists (5), points (15), shots (48) and shots on goal (26). Her five goals and 15 points both tie her previous single-season best efforts. Hair has accounted for 17 career goals to go with 19 assists for a total of 53 career points, while seven of her 17 goals have been game winners. Hair is also a three-time Academic all-MWC choice.
