Jazz games to air in Spanish on KTUB

Utah Jazz basketball games will airing in Spanish for the first time this season.

Radio station KTUB (AM-1600) is carrying all regular-season and playoff games in Spanish.

According to All Access, Fernando Hortal and Nelson Morgan will call the action, while Dan Clayton is the sideline reporter.

KFNZ (AM-1320) is once again the flagship radio station of the Utah Jazz.

There's also an Intermountain network of stations that will cover Jazz games.

Besides KFNZ and KTUB, there's also KNAK (AM-540), Delta; KVNU (AM-610), Logan; KMTI (AM-650), Manti; KCPX (AM-1490), Moab; KOAL (AM-750), Price; KSVC (AM-980), Richfield; KDXU (AM-890), St. George; andKVEL (AM-920), Vernal.

In Idaho, there's KBLI (AM-690), Blackfoot; KBLY, (AM1260), Idaho Falls; and KIOV (AM-1450), Meridian.

In Wyoming, there's KEVA (AM-1240) in Evanston.

RADIO HAPPENINGS — Just like clockwork, "Johnson and Johnson" on KUBL (FM-93.3) staged their annual "Pumpkin Drop" on Thursday, Oct. 28.

Twenty contestants dropped pumpkins from a height of 80 feet, aiming for an open washing machine.

— KSFI ("FM-100") is giving listeners a chance to win holiday money Starting Nov. 1, the station will offer chances to win $100 in Christmas Cash and a Norbest turkey. Listeners will have the chance to win at 8:15, 9:15 and 11:15 a.m., and 1:15and 4:15 p.m. Or, you can also enter online for a chance at $2,000 in holiday money, Go to fm100.com for contest rules.

— Angel Shannon, formerly a morning co-host on KODJ, is now the news anchor on KBZN (FM-97.9). Her husband, Dickie Shannon, is the station manager of KTKK radio (AM-630), so both have now returned to radio after leaving FM-94.1 in 2007.

— "Wooly" Waldron has a weekend radio show on KRSP (FM-103.5), airing from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Waldron is a veteran Utah DJ, one of the most experienced, with a career dating back to the early 1960s on KNAK and KCPX.

— KBZN (FM-97.9) is promoting its new station voice — Lynn Hoffman, who also hosts A&E's "Private Sessions." She also works for the U.S. Radio Network.
