INDIANAPOLIS -- The injuries for the Indianapolis Colts continue to pile up as former BYU Cougar Austin Collie is sidelined for the next few weeks.
Collie missed practice on Wednesday with an undisclosed injury not involving his foot, which was causing him problems the past few weeks. On Thursday, the Colts announced that Collie underwent surgery on one of his thumbs.
This comes on the heels of the announcement of Pro Bowl tight end Dallas Clark out indefinitely with a hand/wrist injury.
It is still uncertain when Collie will return, with all reports indicating that Collie will be out a few weeks.
A source told the Indianapolis Star: "How quickly he returns is up to Mother Nature, but he should be back at some point."

The Colts have not released an official statement yet pertaining to the actual injury or the timetable for Collie's return.
The Colts have a bye in week 7, which gives Collie an extra week to recover, but it is likely that he will miss a few more games following the bye week.
In the win against the Washington Redskins on Sunday, Collie had seven receptions for 57 yards and a 5-yard touchdown. He showed no signs of an injury in that game.
Collie is the second-leading receiver on the Colts with 44 receptions for 503 yards and six touchdowns. Those numbers also put Collie second in the NFL in receptions, fifth in yards and tied for second in touchdown receptions. He falls only one reception behind team and league leader Reggie Wayne, who has 45 receptions.
Earlier in the season, Collie led the league in receiving yards and was on pace to surpass all career stats. He has quickly become one of Peyton Manning's favorite receivers to throw to this season.
