MURRAY — Police say a driver who had his radio up too loud may have caused a collision between a car and an ambulance Thursday afternoon.
Just after noon, an ambulance was responding to a call with lights and siren, said Unified Police Lt. Don Hutson.
At the intersection of 4500 South and 900 East, the ambulance entered into the intersection at a slow pace because it did not have the green light. When it fully entered the intersection, however, it was hit by an oncoming vehicle, Hutson said.
The driver told officers the music on his car stereo was turned up so loud that he didn't hear the ambulance coming. A paramedic in the back of the ambulance suffered minor injuries.
