SALT LAKE CITY — A man who police say stabbed his ex-girlfriend and then overdosed on drugs, leaving him unconscious, has regained consciousness and been booked into the Salt Lake County Jail.
Cory Kaminski, 56, was arrested for investigation of attempted murder. On Sunday, Kaminski stabbed his former girlfriend multiple times at a bar near 1200 N. Beck St. according to police. She was last listed at a local hospital in stable condition.
Investigators later found Kaminski at his residence. They initially thought he was asleep on his couch, but quickly determined after they couldn't awaken him that he had overdosed.
Kaminski was taken to a local hospital. Detectives also found a pocket knife believed to be used in the attack at his home.
