No. 11 Utah (5-0, 2-0) at Wyoming (2-4, 0-2)

Today, 4 p.m. ? War Memorial Stadium

Desso Pro Turf ? Laramie, Wyo.

THE STAKES

For Wyoming ... A chance for a breakthrough in a very challenging schedule. Four of the Cowboys' first seven games have come against opponents ranked in the top 10.

For Utah ... Take your pick. The Utes are off to a good start when it comes to MWC contention and BCS consideration.

THE TRENDS

For Wyoming ... Winning the close ones is something the Cowboys have done five times in the past two seasons. They've topped UNLV, Florida Atlantic, San Diego State, Colorado State and Toledo by less than a touchdown.

For Utah ... How about the second quarter this season? The Utes have outscored the opposition by a decisive 101-7 margin.

THE EDGE

Wyoming will win if ... it can parlay homecoming excitement into success on the field.

Utah will win if ... it continues to excel in all three aspects of the game — offense, defense and special teams.

PLAYER TO WATCH

Jordan Wynn, Utah: The reigning Mountain West Conference Offensive Player of the Week leads the league's highest scoring offense against a generous Wyoming defense.

KEY MATCHUP

Utah's offense vs. Wyoming's defense: If scoring statistics mean anything, this should be a lopsided affair. The Utes are averaging 49 points per game, while the Cowboys have been giving up an average of 30.8 points per game.

INJURY REPORT

Wyoming: Defensive linemen Mark Willis and Tyler Strong will not play. Running back Robert Herron is also sidelined.

Utah: Linebacker J.J. Williams (foot) will not play.

NEXT UP

Utah hosts Colorado State next Saturday, while Wyoming travels to BYU.
