Deer Creek: Fair to good bass fishing. Try casting toward points and retrieving bass lures. Trout fishing has also improved. Most of the trout are fat and average 14 to 18 inches.
Jordanelle: Fair fishing for smallmouth bass. Bass average between 10 and 15 inches. Trout fishing is also fair from the shoreline and from boats.
Provo: Lower — Trout fishing is fair to good and some are still catching some white bass near Utah Lake. Middle — Nymphs, spinners and Rapalas are all working well.
Utah Lake: Fair fishing for catfish and good fishing for white bass. Bait-tipped jigs or lures, like spinners. are working well for white bass. Catching catfish about 30 feet offshore at the Knolls area on west side of the lake. Many of the catfish range from 5 to 10 pounds. Stinkbaits and worms are the best baits for catfish.
Willow Pond: Fishing ponds have been stocked recently. Good fishing with traditional baits and lures.
Bear Lake: Fishing has turned on for lake trout and for cutthroat trout in the last week. Lake trout up to 18 pounds and cutthroat over 6 pounds this past week. Trolling in water about 60 to 70 feet deep produces the best catches. Productive spots to try are off the Gus Rich Point area and along Cisco Beach. Still catching trout along the state park marina and off the shoreline to the south of the marina. They use PowerBait, worms and fly with a bubble. Best luck in the early mornings and right around sunset.
Causey: Fair fishing near the inlet from the northside. Anglers targeting tiger trout report good success for 15- to 20-inch fish using shiners. Rainbow trout anglers have had success for 10- to 12-inch fish fishing from the shoreline with a worm and a jig or PowerBait. Fish have been most active in the early morning, just after sunrise.
East Canyon: Rainbows are biting consistently but they're on the smaller side. Try using a pop gear set up, deep-diving Rapalas or PowerBait.
Hyrum: Anglers report good fishing for fat rainbows and some smaller bass.
Logan River: First Dam — Fishing has been slow. Anglers are catching a few fish along the north shoreline. Fish range from 10 to 14 inches. A few anglers reported catching whitefish that weighed two to three pounds. Second Dam — Fishing has been fair to good during the early morning and late afternoon hours. Third Dam — Slow fishing. Lower Section — Moderate success with flies, olive midges, nymphs, renegades and Woolly Buggers.
