WEST VALLEY CITY — A 28-year-old woman was struck by a pickup truck Monday morning that police say fled scene after the accident.
Just before 7 a.m. a white Dodge quad-cab truck was attempting to turn from 3500 South onto 6800 West, when the vehicle struck the victim who was standing either very close to or on the corner, according to police.
The woman was thrown from the impact of the collision. The pickup drove away. The woman was semi-conscious when she was transported to a local hospital but was reportedly doing "much better" since arriving there, according to police.
Anyone with information on the hit-and-run driver can call police at 801-840-4000.
