BYU's junior running back rushed for a career-high 134 yards on 22 carries and scored a touchdown. He also caught three passes for 23 yards.

On the Cougars' first series of the game, holder Matt Marshall successfully executed a fake field goal by completing a 17-yard pass to Mike Muehlmann. It set up a touchdown and gave BYU an early 7-0 lead.
