Provo jogger attacked on dirt trail; police searching for suspect

PROVO — A woman jogging in Provo was attacked by an unknown man Thursday night.

Police reported the woman was running on a dirt trail in the area of 1800 East and 3400 North about 3:15 p.m. when a man grabbed her and forced her to the ground.

The woman told police he attempted to take off her top, but she was able to get away and run to a friend's house to call 911. Officers responded and searched the area but were unable to locate the man.

The man is described as about 5-feet 9-inches tall in his mid-40s with a full beard about two inches long, a wrinkly face and very dirty. Police said he was also wearing a black fleece jacket.
