SALT LAKE CITY — A Salt Lake mother has been charged with child endangerment after prosecutors say her 12-year-old son destroyed her meth and then called police.
Officers responded to the 35-year-old woman's residence on the 900 South block of Main Street on Aug. 31.
The boy told police it was the second time he's had to destroy his mother's methamphetamine that she kept in a safe in a cupboard next to the fridge at their residence, according to charges filed in 3rd District Court on Monday. The woman told police she was "angry" at her son for destroying the meth.
The boy's mother was charged with two counts of third-degree felony child endangerment.
