This week's theater openings run the gamut from family to drama, a couple of whodunits, classic Greek and modern Tony Award winning musicals.
Here are this week's openings:
"The Drowsy Chaperone," Oct. 6-Nov. 27, Hale Centre Theatre, 3333 S. Decker Lake Drive, West Valley City.
Meet the unassuming Man in Chair. He lives alone, is a bit odd and he LOVES musicals, his favorite being "The Drowsy Chaperone," a classic jazz-age musical.
A play within a play, this Tony Award-winning musical, introduces you to the characters and songs that make the charming Man in Chair come out of his shell.

"Clue," Oct. 4-30, Rodgers Memorial Theatre, 292 E. Pages Lane, Centerville.
The popular family board game turned live stage show. A spooky mansion, Mrs. Peacock, Scarlett, Colonel Mustard and maybe a candlestick or lead pipe, come to life as the audience tries to figure out the room, the weapon and who is guilty.

"Oliver!" Oct. 6-23, The Grand Theatre, 1575 S. State.
The popular British musical opens the Grand's season, featuring local favorite Max Robinson as Fagin and a cast of 30 local actors. The musical, based on the beloved Dickens' classic, features such well-known songs such as "Where is Love?" "As Long As He Needs Me," "Food, Glorious Food."
Shows are Wednesdays through Saturdays, 7:30 p.m., with Saturday matinees available. Tickets are $8-$24 (801-957-3322 or www.the-grand.org)
"Together for Good," Oct. 3, Draper Historic Theatre, 12366 S. 900 East, Draper.
Part benefit, part fundraiser — either way a great night filled with your favorite Broadway songs. The event is designed to help the venue, a favorite among families in the community, weather current hard times.

"And Then There Were None," Pleasant Grove Players, Oct. 8-25, Pleasant Grove Library, 30 E. Center Street, Pleasant Grove.
