SALT LAKE CITY — Crocker Ventures, a Utah-based life science and health care investment company, has acquired TMJ Implants of Golden, Colo.
TMJ Implants manufactures and sells the Christensen TMJ Prosthesis System, which treats temporomandibular joint disorder. The joint is a hinge that permits the lower jaw to move. If that joint is damaged by trauma or deteriorates for other reasons, it can cause a painful and unpleasant symptoms, including chronic headaches, jaw pain, earaches, trouble opening the mouth and more.
Crocker Ventures will build a new production facility for TMJ Implants in Golden that will house the manufacturing, order processing and customer service sides of the business. The sales, marketing and administration will be handled in Salt Lake City.
No layoffs are planned as a result of the acquisition, according to Gary Crocker, president of Crocker Ventures.
