OGDEN — A horse was killed when a semi pulled in front of a pick-up truck in Ogden Tuesday.
Police say the semi was making a left turn onto 12th Street when it was broadsided by a westbound truck pulling a horse trailer with three horses inside. The truck slammed into the semi, killing a paint quarter horse and injuring the other two horses, Ogden Police Lt. Mark Lowther said.
Officials said the pick-up truck had the right of way, and it appears the driver of the semi didn't see the truck.
"The horses are back there and obviously they fly forward too," Lowther said. "Like a person in a car without a seat belt."
Police are still investigating the accident. 12th Street has been reopened to traffic.
