WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL: Southern Utah wasn't able to consistently match runs by the IPFW Mastodons on Friday night, falling on the road 25-16, 25-23, 25-20. The loss drops the T-Birds to 5-8 on the year and 3-2 in Summit League play.
"I thought we had a good chance of beating IPFW tonight," head coach Debby Baker said at the end of the night. "We were really in the match in both the second and third sets, but I think we crumbled because of our (lack of) inexperience."
Analaine Pelaez led the T-Birds with 10 digs and 11 digs for her fourth double-double of the season. IPFW's Stephanie Lamberti and Maya Schlindwein led all hitters with 11 kills each.
SUU will be back in action tonight, continuing Summit League play when the Thunderbirds travel to Rochester, Mich., to face the Golden Grizzlies of Oakland University. Game time is set for 5 p.m. MT.
