SANDY — Police are searching for an armed man who robbed the Credit Union Service Center in Sandy on Thursday.
The man, believed to be in his 30s or 40s, walked into the service center at 57 W. 10600 South just after 4 p.m. and drew a semiautomatic handgun, threatening employees, police say. The man then robbed the business of an undisclosed amount of money and left in an unknown vehicle.
Police say the man attempted to hide himself with a wig, baseball hat, bandana and sunglasses. He is described as a white man, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a medium build. He was wearing a blue windbreaker-type jacket with a light-colored stripe on it and dark-colored pants.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 801-840-4000.
