SALT LAKE CITY — The third phase of Salt Lake County's Parley's Trail will soon open.
When fully complete, Parley's Trail will be about 8 miles long and will be the major east-west connector trail through Millcreek Township, Salt Lake City and South Salt Lake City. The trail currently spans from Tanner Park eastward over Interstate 215 via a pedestrian bridge and connects with the Bonneville Shoreline Trail.
Salt Lake County Mayor Peter Corroon will open another portion of the trail on Friday. The third phase is nearly a mile long and runs from the pedestrian bridge to Tanner Park.
When the new section of trail opens, volunteers will begin planting trees and shrubs along its path to help restore vegetation.
