FARMINGTON — The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has agreed to share certain data with Davis County for the county's emergency response system.
Davis County commissioners agreed to information sharing with the church Tuesday.
Currently, the county doesn't maintain address information about the church's buildings, farms and facilities because they aren't taxed through the county's property tax.
Mark Langston, the county's director of information systems, said if a disaster hits the county, officials will more easily be able to report damage to federal officials or to identify potential shelter locations.
Similar agreements are already in place with other churches the Davis School District and utilities, Langston said.
