SALT LAKE CITY — The Internal Revenue Service will hold open houses Saturday at its Ogden and downtown Salt Lake offices to assist taxpayers who have problems or questions. IRS workers will be on hand to help taxpayers work through difficulties they have encountered.
The open houses will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Ogden IRS office is at 324 25th St., and the Salt Lake Office is at 50 S. 200 East.
Anyone with questions or who has received a tax notice can talk to an IRS worker to get answers or explanations regarding the issue involved. There will be information about whether an installment pay plan would be appropriate and how to file for one. There also will be help with offers-in-compromise, which are agreements in which taxpayers and the IRS settle a tax debt for less than the full amount.
Anyone with questions about a particular IRS form or schedule also can get assistance.
